Homework

What I like about using WiX is that you can add a blog function to your website. I find this blog function incredibly useful in posting tasks, instructions, and encouraging student collaboration.

Each blog post is organised by weeks (so if more blog posts were to be added, students and the teacher can easily navigate and find the particular post they are after). There should be no excuse of 'Miss, I couldn't find it.'

Each homework task is discussed at the conclusion of each lesson but just incase the students weren't paying attention, there is a link to the homework task at the bottom right hand corner of each lesson. When you click on the link, it takes you directly to that post.

Each post includes clear instructions of the homework task that must be completed. Many of the tasks involve students posting their analysis or composition or ideas under that specific blog post. This allows for a more student-centered approach to learning as they can:

  • Provide constructive feedback and positive comments to composition works or performance recordings

  • Ask question

  • Discuss ideas

  • Collaborate Resource

NOTE: To ensure that students are coping each other's homework, the teacher will hide the student's responses until all students and completed the task. Once that happens, the teacher can make the comments/posts 'public'
