Mobile Video Studio

What do you get when you have a class of music education students who are clueless about video and audio setup + a written manual + all the right equipment?

- A lot of laughs and fun but also an eventual setup of a Mobile Video Studio

- A recording and video of 'A Circle of Life'

Success? I think so.

The Mobile Video Studio is a film camera and sound set up which includes microphones, cameras, a laptop, many cords and disk drives, lights etc. Today in our technology workshop, we were provided with all this equipment and a setup written. The class split up into 3 groups, each group figuring out how to set up a section of the studio. We then (very quickly) learnt the song, 'A Circle of Life' written for SATB + Solo and then recorded us! (Outcome and video still pending...)

Check out the photos below for our end setup and some of the equipment we used!

Because there is so much equipment to handle, sometimes, the video and audio can become out of sync. The easiest way to sync everything up? A single clap. This is especially useful if you are dealing with multiple video setups and multiple audio setups.

We were fortunate enough to have this studio provided to us from the University but many won't have access to such technology. Another way of recording (and much cheaper, and just as useful) is a Zoom Recorder. It provides many uses such as a memory chord, good sound quality, it is much more portable and easy to set up.
