BYOD, or Bring Your Own Device is where every child gets a device. Today, there are many different types of devices:
iPads
Laptops
Tablets
Mobile Phones
Kindle Fire (Amazon)
Kids Kindle Fire Edition (access to amazon kids library including apps, movies, books and songs with good parental control such as time use, age and application use)
Google (Chrome Books, Classroom, Suite)
BYOD is now becoming more and more popular within the household and school environment. However, there has been debate on whether BYOD is an issue, if it is more beneficial or detrimental (more research will need to be done).
